Pass Plus

Pass Plus offers new drivers professional instruction, helping them to gain quality driving experience safely, becoming a more skill full driver. You will develop a positive driving style which is both enjoyable and safe, reducing the risk of being involved in an accident. If a new driver feels nervous on their own, pass plus can help boost their confidence. Drivers who successfully complete the course will be offered discount on their insurance by participating insurance companies.

The course is taught over a minimum of six hours with each skill being assessed throughout, with no exam at the end.

The course consists of six modules.

Module 1a Introduction- Course Aims, Positive Driving, Attitude and Skills

Module 1b Town Driving- Observation, awareness, vulnerable road users, clearance to others, urban roads

Module 2 All weather Driving – vision, see & be seen, skidding & avoidance. Speed & stopping distance

Module 3 Out of town & rural roads – rural hazards (bends/lanes), overtaking and progress, observation skills (middle & far distance)

Module 4 Vehicle lighting & use, speed & stopping distance, visibility, parking

Module 5 Dual Carriageways – Joining-turning-leaving, forward planning & observation, overtaking

Module 6 Motorways – Joining-leaving, forward planning & observation, overtaking, breakdown & safety procedure

Once all these modules are complete the DSA will issue you with a certificate of completion free of charge.
